Position Overview
As a Combination Welder, you will be expected to possess extensive industrial welding expertise, particularly within a petrochemical or similar industrial fabrication environment. The ability to read and interpret blueprints, ISO standards, field drawings, and material takeoffs is highly advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
Your duties will encompass a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:
- Welding different types of metals utilizing processes such as SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, and GTAW.
- Selecting, setting up, and staging the appropriate equipment for welding tasks, ensuring all tools and machines are in good working condition.
- Double-checking the fit of pipes or structural components to ensure proper attachment.
- Maintaining a strong focus on safety and detail throughout all tasks.
- Successfully completing pre-employment welding tests as part of the onboarding process.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Proven industrial combination welding experience, specifically with GTAW and SMAW.
- Ability to pass GTAW & SMAW manual welding procedures tests.
- Possession of a current Basic Orientation Plus (Safety Council Card) or renewal within three months of expiration.
- Holding a valid TWIC card.
- A minimum of three years of experience in the welding field.
- Adherence to specified welding procedures and standards.
- Compliance with established safety regulations and maintaining a clean work environment.
- Proficient use of hand and power tools for measuring, cutting, assembling, welding, and installing various piping systems.
- Commitment to producing high-quality work that meets industry standards.
Physical Requirements
This position requires:
- Extended periods of standing, walking, bending, squatting, and lifting.
- Effective communication skills to interact with colleagues and supervisors.
- Good manual dexterity for precise adjustments of machinery components.
- The ability to lift, carry, and move items weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Working at heights, including climbing ladders and stairways, with proper fall protection measures in place.
- Capability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and wind.
- Wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety glasses, ear protection, masks, safety vests, gloves, and steel-toe boots.
