Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Analyst to join our team at the Ohio Department of Commerce. As a Business Analyst, you will play a critical role in the development and implementation of our child welfare automation systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical assistance to information technology professionals engaged in establishing and enhancing child welfare automated systems.
  • Review design documents and plan, develop, and recommend performance criteria and test case scenarios.
  • Conduct system tests to ensure expected outcomes and to test user scenarios.
  • Assist with data conversion from current child welfare automated systems.
  • Develop marketing material for partner agencies and develop webinars, procedure manuals, and user support documentation.
  • Monitor adherence of system development to federal and state requirements.
  • Remain current in program policy changes and provide help desk customer service to county Public Children Service Agencies (PCSAs), Title IV-E Juvenile Courts, private non-custodial agencies (PNAs), and private child placing agencies (PCPAs).
  • Train PCSAs, PNAs, and PCPAs to ensure program compliance through use of state's child welfare automation systems.
  • Monitor counties' knowledge and use of state's child welfare automation systems by identifying user and/or software problems through help desk activities with PCSAs, PNAs, and PCPAs staff.
  • Respond to PCSAs, PNAs, and PCPAs inquiries regarding child welfare automated systems user-related issues.
  • Provide technical assistance and determine security profiles for agency staff.
  • Analyze data and create reports and assist with federal reporting requirements.
  • Serve as a technical assistance expert to SACWIS and other supporting systems by developing and providing technical assistance and instructional e-learning training for the user community.
Requirements
  • 24 months of recent experience in delivery of human services that included explaining and applying child protective services laws, policies, and procedures mandated by Ohio Department of Job and Family Services and using SACWIS.
  • 6 months of training or 6 months of experience in operating personal computer and using Microsoft Office system software, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or like software package.
