POSITION:
Heavy Civil Construction Superintendent - Underground Utilities

LOCATION:
Various locations

JOB SUMMARY:
Oversee, coordinate, and manage craft personnel activities on heavy civil construction projects. This role may include supervising multiple trade groups.

RESPONSIBILITIES:


Plan and oversee craft operations - this includes determining construction methods, workforce levels, material quantities, equipment needs, temporary power sources, work schedules, and documenting actual hours worked.

Coordinate assigned tasks with various crafts, company departments, or other contractors.

Maintain communication with engineering, estimating, and planning teams to ensure work aligns with drawings, specifications, and timelines.

Assist in addressing construction challenges (such as productivity issues, work interfaces, etc.) as necessary.

Support the labor relations department in maintaining communication with unions, resolving jurisdictional disputes, and requisitioning necessary manpower, as needed.

Monitor compliance with project safety protocols and environmental regulations; document and ensure corrective actions are taken.


Maintain communication with other departments (e.g., Material Control, Purchasing, Quality Control) to ensure all necessary materials, equipment, inspections, etc., support craft operations and project timelines.

Ensure adherence to all safety and environmental standards.

Complete additional tasks as assigned by your direct supervisor.

Maintain a valid driving record.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a comparable combination of technical training and experience.

A minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in the construction sector.

Proficient in construction scheduling, cost management, technology, methods, equipment, tools, and work procedures.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

Ability to take responsibility and meet deadlines.

Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Willingness and ability to travel.

Position remains open until filled.
