This role presents a unique opportunity to apply your technical skills to support the vital mission of the Department of Defense (DoD) in nuclear deterrence, particularly in the maintenance and advancement of the ICBM segment of the United States Nuclear Triad.

As a key contributor, you will engage with the Sentinel Program's Command & Launch (C&L) Division, emphasizing the acquisition and integration of advanced command & control functionalities for the next-generation ICBM. Your main duty will be to offer expert advice and support to Sentinel program leaders throughout the acquisition lifecycle.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Deliver technical insights and guidance on weapon system command & control, encompassing launch consoles and command data processing.
  • Supervise ICBM codes and cryptographic measures to uphold the security, confidentiality, integrity, and authenticity of nuclear launch codes and commands.
  • Assist in the management of ICBM targeting systems, concentrating on the processing of strategic aim points.
  • Collaborate on Nuclear Command, Control & Communications (NC3) systems, ensuring the reliability of national communication networks utilized for receiving Presidential nuclear directives.
  • Assess and integrate ICBM command pathways, including hardline and RF networks for voice and data communication.
  • Support the development and execution of airborne launch control capabilities aboard US Navy E-6B aircraft.
  • Oversee actuation and mechanical systems such as missile suspension systems, launcher closure door systems, ballistic gas generators, and missile umbilical retractors.
  • Manage power distribution and endurance systems, including backup generators, emergency batteries, and HVAC systems.
  • Contribute to the design and upkeep of physical security systems, including motion sensors, visual sensors, and other delay mechanisms.
  • Work closely with Air Force stakeholders to evaluate and incorporate command & control equipment into the Sentinel weapon system.
  • Assist in reviewing and assessing the designs, documentation, architectures, and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) products from Sentinel's prime contractors related to weapon system command & control.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of relevant experience or a Master's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with engineering tools such as Cameo Enterprise Architecture and DOORS is advantageous.
  • Strong grasp of ICBM systems and principles of nuclear deterrence.
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) is highly preferred.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Exceptional communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Capability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
