Compelling Physician Assistant Role

Job Summary:
This is a challenging opportunity for a medical professional to assist a supervising physician in managing patients and performing diagnostic procedures under close supervision. The ideal candidate will work closely with the physician to provide high-quality, efficient, and cost-effective care.

Key Responsibilities & Expectations:
  • Accurately obtain, record, and dictate comprehensive patient medical histories.
  • Perform thorough physical examinations and dictate detailed reports.
  • Demand assistance from appropriate specialists when necessary and summarize patient conditions upon discharge or transfer.
  • Ensure timely progress notes are recorded and orders written daily.
  • Patient preparation for hospital discharge is a critical aspect of this role.
  • Educate patients and their families on disease management, treatment plans, medication adherence, nutrition, healthcare best practices, and post-discharge self-care strategies.
  • Maintain open communication channels between patients and physicians, ensuring seamless coordination of care.
  • Establish effective working relationships with nurses and physicians by facilitating clear communication.
  • Develop and implement educational programs for office staff to enhance their knowledge and skills.
  • Coordinate consults with relevant specialists as required and follow up with outpatients as needed.
  • Manage incoming phone calls from patients, home health nurses, and other stakeholders.
  • Evaluate complex patient cases that necessitate medical consultation.
  • Collaborate with the supervising physician in all aspects of patient care, ensuring continuity and quality.
  • Effectively manage patient databases to maintain accurate records and ensure efficient care delivery.
Essential Qualifications:
  • Holds a current Virginia Physician Assistant License.
  • AHA BLS Provider CPR certification is mandatory.
  • Previous experience as a Physician Assistant is preferred but not required.
Competitive Salary Range: $120,000 - $150,000 per year
