The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the operational aspects of various commercial and industrial electrical construction projects. This includes managing day-to-day activities, coordinating with clients, and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare project construction schedules and submit requests for information to clients
- Manage day-to-day activities of assigned projects and act as the main point-of-contact for project personnel
- Coordinate meetings, schedule updates, and submit deliverables as requested by clients
- Prepare look-ahead documents, weekly and monthly progress reports, and billing information
- Review and monitor job costs versus budgets and report regularly to the management team
- Prepare complete cost estimates for commercial and industrial projects within set deadlines
- Perform field take-offs and evaluations for estimate preparation and participate in the estimate review process
- Prepare bills of material and other information for use by purchasing and assist in the preparation and submission of change orders
- Coordinate closely with project management and assist construction personnel in tracking and understanding the basis of cost estimates
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- 3+ years of project management and estimating experience, preferably in the electrical utility industry
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; or a combination of relevant education and experience
You will also need:
- Knowledge of specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time/cost/labor estimates
- Knowledge of the National Electric Code and local codes
- Ability to read and understand civil, architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical plans and specifications
- Computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and estimating software
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with diverse internal and external partners and to stay on-task for extended periods
