About the Job
The Joshua School is seeking a skilled Behavioral Specialist to join our team. As a Behavioral Specialist, you will play a crucial role in developing, implementing, and maintaining behavior analytic programming for assigned student caseloads.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, design, implement, and train staff on behavior analytic needs and supports within each student program.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to implement evidence-based behavior analytic practices.
- Participate in a leadership role within the BCBA supervision program and on-boarding and training program for staff.
- Develop, maintain, and review behavior intervention and treatment plans.
- Conduct regular data analysis to ensure appropriate treatment and identify needs for updates.
- Perform weekly program walkthroughs and reviews to ensure fidelity and collect interobserver agreement data.
- Deliver behavior skills training for students on your caseload and observe new potential students for initial and ongoing behavioral assessment.
- Stay up-to-date on research and create training for staff development or family training as requested by the Program Director.
- Supervise staff in behavior certification programs and manage and train staff on physical intervention and physical safety.
- Review incident reports and participate in an ethics committee to review incident and restraint policies and procedures.
- maintain student records related to ITP, behavior intervention plans, and family/team communication.
- Utilize the practice management system to document services rendered, manage insurance authorizations, and oversee weekly lesson planning.
Requirements
- A commitment to working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- A master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Special Education, or a related field.
- Certification as a BCBA or BCaBA is preferred.
- 2 or more years' experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Maturity and reliability.
- Good driving record and valid driver's license.

Work Environment
