Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Children's Wisconsin - Milwaukee Campus. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to critically ill children in our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

Responsibilities
  • Provide respiratory care to pediatric patients, including ventilator management, intubations, extubations, suctioning, and treatments.
  • Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
  • Monitor patient vital signs and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds to discuss patient progress and develop care plans.
  • Document patient information and treatment plans in the electronic medical record.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in pediatric critical care or NICU.
  • Ability to function on PICU and Level IV NICU.
  • Experience with ventilator management, intubations, extubations, suctioning, and treatments.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks accordingly.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Work Environment

The unit includes a 24-bed peds cardiac ICU, a 24-bed peds medical ICU, a 24-bed peds surgical ICU, and a 70-bed level IV NICU. Staffing includes 2-3 RCP's in each of PICU, 3-4 RCP's in NICU depending on census.

Additional Information
  • Float requirements include primarily PICU and NICU, but may need to float to general med/surg acute care units, EDTC.
  • No on-call or call back requirements are specified.
  • Client can terminate the contract with 2 weeks' notice if census dictates.
