As a Senior Physician Assistant at Kaiser Permanente, you will provide high-quality patient care in a dynamic and team-oriented environment. Under the direction of a supervising physician, you will manage patients in various settings, including the office, hospital, ED, and perioperative environment. Your responsibilities may include first assisting in surgeries, performing department-specific procedures, and facilitating on-call responsibilities for your supervising physician.
Key Responsibilities- Examine patients, perform comprehensive physical examinations, and compile patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination.
- Administer or order diagnostic tests, such as imaging studies, electrocardiogram, and laboratory tests, and interpret test results for deviations from normal.
- Perform therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing, and wound care, and manage infection.
- Develop and implement patient management plans, record progress notes, and assist in provision of continuity of care.
- Instruct and counsel patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, family planning, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance and other relevant patient education.
- Minimum three (3) years previous experience in the last five (5) years as a physician assistant.
- Graduate from an ARC-PA accredited physician assistant program.
- Physician Assistant License (California) and National Provider Identifier required at hire.
- Basic Life Support certification.
- Advanced Certification in specialty area, preferred.
