Job Title: Open Rank - Part-Time Psychiatrist and Advanced Practice Provider Faculty

Join the University of Colorado School of Medicine as a part-time psychiatrist and advanced practice provider faculty member. We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team in the Department of Psychiatry.

About the Position

This is an open rank position, which means that the successful candidate will be appointed at the rank of Clinical Instructor, Clinical Senior Instructor, Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, or Clinical Professor, depending on their experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients in crisis, including relevant laboratory tests and imaging
• Manage common emergency presentations, including agitation and suicidal states
• Develop brief, focused treatment plans
• Prescribe medications
• Determine appropriate level of care and disposition
• Work with a team, including Emergency Physicians, Behavioral Health Evaluators, nurses, technicians, pharmacists, and security staff
• Keep abreast of the latest developments in the field

Requirements

To be successful in this position, candidates will need:

• Clinical skill in conducting brief and targeted assessments in integrated care settings
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
• Capacity for flexibility and adaptability in different work situations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentations to community audiences
• Ability to work effectively on multiple tasks and maintain a well-organized work environment
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse population of faculty, staff, and students

Benefits

This is a non-benefits eligible position, but the hiring rate for this position has been established at $2,000 per 12-hour shift. Shifts are either 6 or 12 hours and are paid at the rate of $1,000 per 6-hour shift or $2,000 per 12-hour shift.
