Clinical Counselor

Summary:

MaineHealth is offering a unique opportunity for a Clinical Counselor to join our team at Maine Medical Center. As a Clinical Counselor, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

• Evaluate psychosocial needs of patients and families, and provide diagnostic and treatment services, including individual, family, and group therapy.
• Provide complex discharge planning, coordinate aftercare services, and make referrals for other community services based on the treatment plan.
• Work collaboratively with other health and mental health professionals to provide consultation to the treatment team regarding patient and family social and environmental needs.
• May supervise other social workers, students, or other staff.

• Master's degree in Social Work from an institution accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
• Maine state licensure to practice as a LCSW, LMSW-CC, LCPC, or LCPC-c is required.
• 2+ years of work experience in a health or mental health setting preferred.
• Knowledge of social work theories, therapies, and techniques, as well as principles of social welfare.
