Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and Implement Safety Policies: Develop, implement, and maintain effective occupational health and safety policies, procedures, and programs to minimize risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct Workplace Inspections: Conduct regular on-site inspections to identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices, and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Provide Training and Support: Assist in new employee orientation training and annual safety training, and provide guidance and support to supervisors and employees on safety-related matters.
  • Investigate Incidents: Investigate all work-related injuries and incidents, and provide recommendations for prevention and mitigation.
  • Ensure Compliance: Ensure that third-party vendors, contractors, and employees working on our premises are aware of and comply with our safety policies and procedures.
  • Stay Up-to-Date: Monitor and stay current with changes in safety regulations, laws, and reporting requirements, and implement updates as necessary.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field, and at least 1 year of experience as a Safety Specialist or Safety Officer.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Strong knowledge of OHS and OSHA regulations and guidelines, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, and work in a variety of environments, including indoor and outdoor settings.
