Position Summary:
The Operating Room Nurse is responsible for delivering direct nursing care in alignment with established protocols and standards of our healthcare organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and oversee patient care plans, ensuring effective monitoring and communication of patient conditions.
- Act as the primary coordinator for multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care.
- Execute physician and nursing orders accurately and efficiently.
- Assess and address patients' discharge planning needs in collaboration with the healthcare team.
Assessment:
The RN employs a systematic approach to gather and evaluate data about patients, which is essential for delivering quality nursing care. This assessment encompasses physiological, psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and lifestyle factors.
Problem Identification:
The nurse utilizes clinical judgment to identify actual or potential health issues affecting the patient.
Planning and Outcomes:
Based on assessments and identified problems, the nurse collaborates with patients and families to establish measurable and achievable goals.
Implementation:
Nursing care is executed according to the care plan, ensuring continuity of care throughout the patient's hospital stay and preparation for discharge.
Evaluation:
Continuous evaluation of both the patient's condition and the effectiveness of nursing interventions is crucial, with adjustments made to the care plan as necessary.
Care Coordination:
Nurses play a vital role in managing and optimizing the sequence and effectiveness of patient care from admission through discharge.
Qualifications:
- Licensure: Valid Arizona Nursing License or compact state license with the ability to obtain Arizona licensure.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and other relevant certifications preferred.
- Education: Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing is required; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred.
- Experience: A minimum of one year of experience as a Registered Nurse is required.
