Position Overview: Surgical Technologist – Non-Certified
- The Surgical Technologist plays a crucial role within the healthcare team, providing essential technical assistance during the perioperative phase under the guidance and oversight of a Registered Nurse, adhering to established clinical care standards.
- Responsible for the preparation of surgical instruments, equipment, supplies, and ensuring the operating room and patients are ready to maintain a sterile environment.
- Coordinates the handling or disposal of surgical specimens and related materials.
- Assists in managing the inventory of sterile supplies.
- May support in the transportation of patients as needed.
Position Specifications:
Location: St Josephs Womens
Employment Status: Full Time, Non-Exempt
Shift Schedule: 6:45pm - 7:15am
Weekend Availability: Every Other
On Call Requirement: No
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Completion of an Accredited Surgical Technology Program or a military/hospital-based training program with a minimum of 5 years of acute care Surgical Tech experience.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Essential Skills:
- Proficient understanding of sterile techniques, surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile field setup.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
