Job Summary
Connecticut Children's seeks a highly skilled child health care coordinator to join our pediatric team. As a nurse in this role, you will provide direct professional nursing care to specified patients throughout their episode of service delivery. You will work under general supervision to plan and provide safe, appropriate patient care according to Connecticut Children's policies and standards. Responsibilities include demonstrating clinical expertise, using the nursing process to provide patient care, and participating in preceptor/mentor activities. Additionally, you will be expected to complete all required documentation in a timely manner and effectively communicate with the healthcare team.

Responsibilities
As a child health care coordinator at Connecticut Children's, your key responsibilities will include:
  • Fostering effective team dynamics and working closely with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement effective care plans.
  • Supporting patient and family safety by identifying potential risks and taking proactive steps to mitigate them.
  • Participating in preceptor/mentor activities to support the development of other nurses.
  • Completing all required documentation in a timely manner and effectively communicating with the healthcare team.

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must possess a degree or diploma from an accredited nursing program for registered nurses. A minimum of two years' clinical experience in pediatrics and/or behavioral health settings is preferred. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification is required upon hire and maintained thereafter. Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Training (CPI) is also required within 3 months of hire and maintained thereafter. You should have strong interpersonal and communication skills, along with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. The estimated salary for this position is $80,000-$120,000 per year, depending on experience.
