Deputy Sheriff

Join Denton County, TX, in a dynamic role as a Deputy Sheriff, where you will play a vital part in maintaining public safety and upholding the law.

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to serve as a Deputy Sheriff in our Sheriff's Department. As a Deputy Sheriff, you will be responsible for enforcing laws, maintaining order, and providing support to the community.

• Enforce all state and federal laws, as well as Denton County ordinances.
• Provide law enforcement services to residents and respond to service requests.
• Prepare documentation and reports in a timely manner.
• Operate x-ray machines, walk-through metal detectors, and hand-held metal detectors as necessary.
• Monitor surveillance cameras as assigned.
• Respond to calls for service on county property.
• Complete offense and incident reports as necessary.
• Apprehend criminals in a variety of situations.
• Provide field training for other deputies.

• Certification as a Peace Officer in the State of Texas is required.
• High School graduation or GED is required.
• Possession of a valid driver's license is required.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
