About the RoleAnakeesta is seeking a highly skilled Assistant Retail Buyer to assist our Retail Buyer in all aspects of the retail merchandise purchasing process. This includes sourcing, negotiating, purchasing, and tracking receipt of products for the park.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in reviewing sales trends and overseeing inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels.
- Collaborate with vendors to ensure timely delivery of goods and resolve any issues that may arise.
- Focus on new product arrivals at Anakeesta and work alongside the retail buyer/merchandise planner to ensure financial goals are met.
- Monitor inventory levels and create initial purchase orders for new items, tracking receiving progress.
- Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and products that align with Anakeesta's needs.
- Assist in analyzing sales data and trends to make informed purchasing decisions.
- Coordinate logistics to ensure smooth transportation and delivery of goods.
- Assist in maintaining accurate records of purchases, pricing, and product specifications.
- Weekly review of designated reports.
- Actively communicate and visit with the offsite warehouse team.
- Escalate problem purchase orders in a timely manner and assist in facilitating a resolution with the Warehouse Receiving Supervisor.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field, or proven experience in a similar role, preferably within the retail industry.
- Strong knowledge of sourcing strategies, e-commerce platforms, logistics, and production planning is preferred.
- Proficiency in using software systems such as Eatec for inventory management and purchasing.
- Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze sales data and market trends.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.; can push, pull, grasp, lift, kneel, stoop, climb, balance, crouch, and crawl.
- Must be able to stand and/or walk for lengthy periods of time on uneven ground.
