Job Responsibilities
  • Provide direct clinical care to patients according to established protocols and evidence-based practice standards in collaboration with the healthcare team.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential medical records, documenting all medical evaluations, diagnoses, procedures, treatments, outcomes, education, referrals, and consultations in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Identify yourself properly to patients and families, clarifying your role as a nurse practitioner if necessary, and function within your scope, referring to the collaborating physician when outside of scope or directed by the collaborating physician or patient/family request.
  • Perform interventions specific to assigned patient population and collaborative agreement, participating in performance improvement processes to meet quality of care and service standards.
  • Demonstrate awareness of professional responsibility as a role model to peers and members of the healthcare team, performing approved therapeutic or diagnostic procedures based on patient clinical status.
  • Address patient and family concerns, creating a therapeutic relationship to provide support, and provide patient education, counseling, and instruction regarding patient diagnosis, medical treatments, medications, and preventative care.
  • Participate in and support accreditation, compliance, and regulatory activities of the organization, precepting NP students and other healthcare learners, and identifying patient/family needs for community resources and referring appropriately.
Requirements
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required for providers in the acute care setting.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification required as a healthcare provider according to the American Heart Association for providers in the ambulatory setting.
  • Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) licensure required in Pennsylvania and/or New Jersey.
  • Prescriptive Authority required in Pennsylvania and/or New Jersey.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required in Pennsylvania and/or New Jersey.
  • National Board Certification.
Education or Equivalent Experience

Master of Arts or Science degree required, with education specialization in Master's Degree or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) in Nursing, or equivalent experience.
