Job Summary



The Sacramento County CA seeks a talented Civil Engineer to join their team in the design, surveying, testing, and construction of public works projects. As a key member of the engineering team, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing a variety of civil engineering tasks, including road construction, bridge design, traffic control system development, and water and wastewater management.



Key Responsibilities




  • Design and develop public works projects, including roads, bridges, and traffic control systems
  • Conduct site surveys and inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications
  • Test and evaluate materials and construction methods to ensure quality and safety standards
  • Supervise and manage teams of engineers and paraprofessional staff to ensure project completion on time and within budget
  • Develop and implement budget plans and reports to track project progress and expenditures
  • Maintain accurate records and reports of project activities, including meeting minutes and technical reports


Requirements




  • Current registration as a civil engineer issued by the California State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers
  • Valid California Driver's License, Class C or higher
  • Ability to obtain certification from a recognized state, national, or international association, as determined by the County
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders


Working Conditions



The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent deadlines and changing priorities. The position may involve working irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, and may require occasional travel to project sites.
