Neuro Step Down Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Neuro Step Down team at TriStar Centennial Medical Center. As a Neuro Step Down Nurse, you will have the opportunity to make a real impact on the lives of our patients and their families.
About the RoleThe Registered Nurse performs direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act. You will plan individualized patient care while utilizing an interdisciplinary approach, participating in performance improvement activities, and providing care that fosters the goals of the hospital's mission and vision statement.
Responsibilities- Make staff assignments based on patient need, acuity, and the skill of the staff.
- Serve as a role model and clinical resource for the staff.
- Respond in a timely manner to requests for information or follow-up with physician, staff, or patient issues.
- Record patients' medical information and vital signs.
- Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans.
- Monitor all aspects of patient care in a collaborative multidisciplinary setting.
- Instruct individuals, families, or other groups on patient care and disease process.
- Supports the facility's Standards of Performance and ICARE values.
- Maintains knowledge and follows all CMS and JCAHO requirements.
- Successfully complete critical care unit specific competencies yearly.
- RN licensure by Tennessee Board of Nursing or a Board of Nursing from a compact state.
- Bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Must obtain ACLS within 6 Months of hire or transfer from non-ICU area.
- One to two years clinical nursing preferred.
- ICU experience preferred.
