Job Title: RN Director of Medical Surgical Oncology

Job Summary:
The Director of Medical Surgical Oncology is a highly motivated and team-oriented leader. Our teams work in a fast-paced and friendly environment that holds high standards in providing the best patient care. The Director will manage the financial and clinical operations of assigned areas of responsibility and recommend sufficient qualified competent persons to provide care. They will participate in outside source selection for needed services and work closely with their recruiter and the recruiting team to develop sourcing and hiring strategies. The Director will integrate department services with the hospital's primary function, maintaining communication with medical and nursing staffs, Administration, patients, and their families/significant others. They will coordinate and integrate services within departments, develop and implement policies and procedures that guide and support provision of services, supervise nursing staff, and assure staff competency. The Director will continually assess and improve department performance, promote the Quality Management program of the facility, and maintain appropriate quality control programs. They will develop goals and objectives for assigned areas of responsibility and participate in development of goals and objectives for the Nursing Department. The Director will remain focused on employee rounding, employee engagement, and employee retention, measured by annual engagement scores, monthly, and trending turnover rates.

Responsibilities:
Manage financial and clinical operations of assigned areas of responsibility
Recommend sufficient qualified competent persons to provide care
Participate in outside source selection for needed services
Work closely with recruiter and recruiting team to develop sourcing and hiring strategies
Integrate department services with hospital's primary function
Maintain communication with medical and nursing staffs, Administration, patients, and their families/significant others

Requirements:
Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
Bachelor's degree required
Licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Virginia as a registered nurse
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider
Five (5) years current nursing experience; two (2) years of management experience required
Must have recently been in a Director of Med Surg role to be considered
