Job Title: Comprehensive Vision Care Specialist

Job Summary:

PATHS School-Based Clinic and PATHS Medical Offices seek a skilled Comprehensive Vision Care Specialist to provide comprehensive vision care to children and adults. The ideal candidate will have a Doctor of Optometry degree and experience in human/social services, preferably in a healthcare environment. The selected candidate will work as part of a care team that practices evidence-based medicine in a Patient-Centered Medical Home model of care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide general and comprehensive vision services to patients of all ages.
• Assist with the development, implementation, and monitoring of vision policies and procedures.
• Conduct routine eye exams, diagnose and evaluate vision conditions, and maintain accurate records to support diagnosis/evaluation.
• Prescribe medications to treat ocular diseases and disorders.
• Promote eye health by teaching patients about proper eye care techniques.
• Assist with the development and implementation of Vision Quality Assurance.
• Train and evaluate assigned staff.
• Perform other assignments as necessary.

Requirements:

• Doctor of Optometry degree (OD) preferred.
• Minimum of one year's experience in human/social services, preferably in a healthcare environment.
• Training or direct experience in counseling, interviewing, service plan development, decision making, and information and referral services is preferred.
