Position Overview:

We are in search of a forward-thinking and committed Linux Systems Administrator to enhance our expanding team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain 24/7 functionality of highly available customer-facing and internal server environments across multiple data centers.
  • Enhance performance, reliability, survivability, and security of each host and its related services.
  • Offer technical assistance to programmers and developers for the deployment or modification of their development environments, ensuring effective resource utilization.
  • Investigate, design, and implement new technologies, deploy servers and services, and collaborate with internal teams as necessary.
  • Oversee backups and ensure compliance with disaster recovery protocols.
  • Manage access to servers and services.
  • Develop and enforce policies, procedures, and documentation.
  • Provide innovative solutions to build and scale infrastructure.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Over 5 years of experience in Linux system administration.
  • Extensive experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux or its derivatives (CentOS) and VMware ESXi.
  • Familiarity with underlying hardware/infrastructure and monitoring.
  • Administration of bind and zone files, Apache, nginx, NTP, sendmail, Java, Wowza, Docker, syslog.
  • Networking knowledge, including subnetting/VLANs, iptables, bonding network interfaces/LACP, multihomed devices, and route management.
  • Comprehensive understanding of NFS, Samba, file systems and volumes, LVM.
  • Proficient in MySQL/MariaDB configuration, performance monitoring, and access privilege management.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues across the entire stack, identify root causes, and coordinate with appropriate resources for resolution.
  • Experience with configuration management and monitoring services such as Nagios, SNMP, SolarWinds.
  • Programming or scripting skills in Perl, Python, PHP, or shell script are advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Jira is a plus.
