Position: Housekeeper
Schedule: Monday to Friday; Every other weekend required
The Housekeeper plays a vital role in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene within our facilities. Responsibilities include a variety of cleaning tasks such as dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, laundry, carpet shampooing, scrubbing bathrooms, cleaning surfaces, disposing of waste, and washing windows. Additional duties involve restocking supplies in common areas and resident bathrooms with necessary paper products and hand soap.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Housekeeping Duties
- Adhere to a detailed cleaning checklist for each room and shared space.
- Prepare cleaning solutions by mixing water and detergents in designated containers according to specifications.
- Utilize chemical cleaners and equipment properly to avoid damage to floors and fixtures.
- Maintain cleanliness of community areas and resident rooms through sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming.
- Perform steam cleaning or carpet shampooing as needed.
- Dust and clean furniture, walls, and equipment, including moving items as necessary.
- Wash windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using appropriate cleaning solutions and tools.
- Adjust heating, cooling, and ventilation systems, including filter changes.
- Collect and dispose of trash efficiently.
- Clear debris from outdoor areas, including porches and parking lots.
- Ensure all bathrooms are stocked with essential supplies such as toilet paper and soap.
- Replace light bulbs throughout the facility.
- Maintain a schedule for cleaning suites occupied by two residents twice a week.
- Report maintenance needs to supervisors through documentation in logs and checklists.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Housekeeper
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience: Minimum of one year in a related role.
- Knowledge of infection control practices.
- Ability to multitask and manage stress effectively.
- Understanding and commitment to the assisted living philosophy.
- Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and during peak service times.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
