Pediatric Respiratory Therapist Position Overview

Pediatric Specialty Care in Point Pleasant, PA is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Respiratory Therapist to provide quality care for clinically complex pediatric residents in a home-like atmosphere. The Respiratory Therapist will assist in ensuring the health and well-being of our individuals by evaluating their ventilator weaning and/or respiratory rehabilitation potential.

Responsibilities

• Screens and provides an in-depth evaluation of the needs of ventilator and respiratory clients.
• Identifies individual problems and needs through continuously collected objectives and subjective data based on interview, observation, and review of individual records.
• Provides written recommendations for interdisciplinary care planning and treatment.
• Administers prescribed medications and treatment in accordance with approved respiratory techniques.
• Initiates ventilator weaning protocol and/or respiratory rehabilitation in accordance with physician's orders; identifies deviations from expected lab values, monitoring, etc.

Requirements

• Minimum of Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited educational institution; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Possession of active, unencumbered state Respiratory Therapist license in the state where work is performed. Registered Respiratory Therapist or Certified Respiratory Therapist by National Board of Respiratory Care.
• Must possess a valid CPR from AHA Healthcare provider.

This position requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors. In order to ensure a safe work environment for residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors of the Company, and to permit unfettered communication between the employee and those residents, coworkers, visitors, and supervisors, this position requires that the employee be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level.
