Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced HR Generalist to support our clients within our Not-for-Profit division in Des Plaines, IL. This hybrid role requires approximately three days a week of on-site work in the Des Plaines area. The successful candidate will provide operational excellence, support various ATS systems, and automated technologies. The HR Generalist will work closely with three non-profit organizations in the Outpatient Behavioral Health or shelter space.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee human resources records management, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and company policies.
  • Manage employee personnel files, including new hire paperwork, personnel status change forms, benefits enrollment forms, I-9 forms, and other relevant documents.
  • Coordinate the distribution of required human resources documents and archive appropriate files.
  • Assist with talent acquisition, including recruitment, onboarding, application processing, job postings, reference checks, and background checks.
  • Support pre-hire documentation and testing, as well as offboarding processes.
  • Update payroll and benefits systems as needed.
  • Complete miscellaneous research, reports, and memos as requested.
  • Process requests and assist with the implementation of HRIS.
  • Support the annual Open Enrollment process, including data entry, material distribution, and presentations.
  • Perform a wide range of clerical duties, system organization, and process design.
Requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, accommodate multiple clients, and request assistance when needed.
  • Act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficiency with or ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS, payroll system, and processes for talent acquisition/management.
Education and Experience
  • Associates Degree or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of human resource experience.
  • Experience with non-profit organizations a plus.
  • This is a hybrid role, requiring on-site work when needed.
