Gpac, a leading search firm specializing in placing quality professionals, is seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Paralegal to join their team. This role requires a detail-oriented and organized professional with a strong background in handling insurance defense cases in Delaware.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in all phases of insurance defense litigation, from inception through trial and appeal.
- Draft, review, and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery responses, in compliance with Delaware court rules.
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant case information, including obtaining medical records, accident reports, and other critical documents.
- Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all documents are properly indexed and easily accessible.
- Coordinate and manage discovery processes, including drafting and responding to discovery requests, managing document productions, and preparing deposition summaries.
- Assist in trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, preparing trial binders, and coordinating witness appearances.
- Communicate and coordinate with clients, experts, witnesses, and court personnel as needed.
- Monitor case deadlines and ensure timely filings and compliance with court orders.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a paralegal, with a focus on insurance defense litigation.
- Direct experience working on cases in Delaware, with a strong understanding of Delaware court rules and procedures.
- Paralegal certification or degree from an accredited institution.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software.
