Power/mation is a leading provider of industrial automation solutions, with a rich history dating back to 1961. We partner with customers across Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, and the Dakotas to deliver innovative solutions in motion control, logic control, robotics, pneumatics, software, sensors, vision, machine safety, power transmission, control panel components, and services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement electrical control systems, control panels, and general automation projects.
- Travel to job sites for project evaluation, installations, and service calls.
- Create bills of material and assist with cross-referencing of bills of materials when needed.
- Assist customers and outside sales staff with quoting and labor estimates for projects.
- Develop strong relationships with integrator partners.
- Conduct meetings to ensure desired progress with projects and provide a means to communicate issues to Power/mation management.
Requirements:
- Technical degree in Industrial Engineering, Controls, or Robotics preferred; equivalent experience can be substituted for the degree requirement.
- Previous consulting experience, sales experience, or customer service experience desirable.
- Ability to manage multiple aspects of small to mid-sized projects from conception to implementation.
- Effective writing skills to establish engineering processes and procedures.
- Ability to manage time and handle multiple tasks simultaneously with frequently changing priorities.
- Ability to travel as needed (approximately 1x a quarter).
- 2+ years of experience with motion control, programmable logic controllers, and motor control design, and programming.
- Must understand engineering controls systems and electrical standards and possess knowledge of automation products to design and program solutions for customers.
- Must be able to work closely and efficiently with customers, vendors, and internal resources to meet requirements of general purpose automation projects.
- Excellent sales and relationship building skills to effectively represent Power/mation and promote its products and services to customers.
- Ability to develop and maintain key account relationships.
- Effective communication, listening, problem-solving, and organizational skills to effectively interact with internal and external customers and sales staff.
Compensation:
This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary of approximately $90,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits and opportunities for professional growth and development.
