Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team at Hardin County Schools. As a Custodian, you will play a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our school facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine custodial activities, including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors, as well as cleaning classrooms, restrooms, and other facilities.
  • Operate cleaning equipment, such as vacuums, floor strippers, and polishers, to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Report safety, sanitary, and fire hazards to appropriate authorities and recommend maintenance repairs as needed.
  • Lock and unlock doors, gates, and other secure areas, and maintain the security of facilities during assigned shifts.
  • Order supplies and materials according to established guidelines and procedures.
  • Participate in major summer cleaning projects and perform related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to lift, push, and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to follow oral and written directions.
  • Knowledge of basic methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in custodial work and routine maintenance.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position, 261 days per school year, 8 hours a day, 2nd shift. The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high level of productivity and attention to detail.
