Senior Accountant Job Description

Beacon Hill is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our finance team. As a key member of our accounting department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of our financial reporting, maintaining our general ledger, and supporting our month-end and year-end close processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • General Ledger Maintenance: Oversee and maintain the general ledger, ensuring accuracy in financial data and timely reconciliation of accounts.
  • Closing Processes: Manage and execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Account Reconciliation: Reconcile complex accounts, including bank accounts, accounts payable, and receivable, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Journal Entries: Prepare and post journal entries related to accruals, prepaids, and other adjusting entries.
  • External Audits: Assist with external audits by preparing necessary documentation and supporting schedules.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS, and other relevant financial regulations and internal policies.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes, providing accurate data and variance analysis.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare detailed financial reports and present findings to senior management for decision-making support.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth financial operations, including AP/AR, tax filings, and payroll.
  • Process Improvement: Identify process improvements to increase efficiency within the accounting function.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
  • 4-6+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, and financial reporting standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to interact with team members across departments and with external auditors.
