Civil Leadman

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Civil Leadman to join our team at Optimized Process Designs, LLC. As a Civil Leadman, you will be responsible for leading multiple journeymen and crews on various construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead multiple journeymen and crews on construction projects
• Conduct morning production meetings with crews to discuss daily plans and concerns
• Assign job tasks to each journeyman and ensure they are properly trained
• Coordinate work according to priorities and plans
• Enforce OPD and client-specific safety policies and procedures on the jobsite
• Anticipate and recognize potential safety and environmental concerns and report them to the OPD Superintendent
• Plan and schedule concrete pours and rebar installation with area foreman
• Verify forms and concrete are set within client specifications
• Be competent with excavations, trenching, and soil
• Lead by example and with respect
• Contribute to maintaining a clean job site
• Use a computer to write daily reports, employee discipline, JSAs, and use email

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience as a civil lead
• Ability to read and understand civil, structural, and pipe drawings
• Ability to use a sight level and transit to determine coordinates and elevations
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
• Previous experience in a gas plant construction environment
• Previous experience leading teams
• Willingness to advance safety culture
• Previous experience communicating effectively across crafts: civil, pipe, and structural
• Travel is a must with extended periods away from home in remote areas at times
• Ability to work shifts up to 12 hours per day and 7 days a week
• Ability to meet all physical demands of the job

What Will Put You Ahead

• Three or more years of previous experience as a carpenter
• Fully competent with excavation, trenching, soil jobs, and safety considerations
• Consistent progression into field leadership
• Past experience working in multiple crafts: pipe, civil, structural
