Histology Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Histotechnician/Histotechnologist to join our team at Piedmont Cartersville. As a key member of our surgical pathology laboratory, you will play a critical role in preparing tissue samples for pathologists to review.

• Prepare tissue samples for histopathological examination by cutting, staining, and processing.
• Prioritize testing procedures and complete them in a timely and accurate manner.
• Maintain accurate records of all tests performed in accordance with established policies and regulations.

• High school diploma or equivalent required, plus sufficient college/technical school courses and/or clinical training in Histology.
• Recent graduate from an accredited histology program or one year of technical experience in a surgical pathology laboratory.
• Certification as a Histotechnologist or Histotechnician by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or other acceptable agency.

• Three years of experience in a surgical pathology laboratory.
