Johnson Controls International is seeking a highly skilled Sprinkler Service Technician V to join our team. As a key member of our fire protection team, you will be responsible for servicing and troubleshooting wet/dry/pre-action systems, fire pumps-based fire sprinkler systems, and backflows.
Key Responsibilities- System Servicing and Troubleshooting: Service and troubleshoot wet/dry/pre-action systems, fire pumps-based fire sprinkler systems, and backflows, including repair and internal inspections of systems.
- Inspection and Maintenance: Perform around 25 inspections per week to ensure systems are functioning properly.
- Blueprint Reading and Interpretation: Read and understand complex construction blueprints, diagrams, and specifications used in installation activities.
- Physical Demands: Carry/move equipment and tools weighing up to 50 pounds. Perform work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 40 feet or more.
- Workplace Safety: Maintain a clean and safe work area. Pick up and properly dispose of all trash associated with Johnson Controls Fire Protection work. Wear appropriate safety equipment as required, including bump cap/hard hat, safety glasses, cut-resistant gloves, face mask, and safety-toed boots.
- Tool and Equipment Management: Properly secure all Johnson Controls Fire Protection tools and equipment at the end of each work period to prevent damage or loss.
- Administrative Tasks: Have computer/phone skills, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and iPhone apps and functions. Complete and submit time reports and other documents as required.
- Communication and Coordination: Bring to the immediate attention of the dispatcher/supervisor all changes, discrepancies, and coordination problems that impair activities or schedules.
- Flexibility and Availability: Work alternate shifts or weekends to meet customer service on-call requirements.
- Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as directed by management.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Quality Service Skills: Provide high-quality service to customers.
- Technical Knowledge: Working knowledge of wet, dry, and pre-action sprinkler systems, and fire pump systems is required.
- Driving Record: Must have a clean driving record.
- Communication and Teamwork: Follow verbal and written instructions and work effectively in a team environment.
- Experience: 5-10 years of experience in the industry.
- Licenses and Certifications: Sprinkler and Backflow license is required.
- Attention to Detail: Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy.
- Customer Service: Great communication skills to review and complete daily tasks and provide excellent customer service.
- NICET Certification: NICET certification is a plus.
