Facility Cleaning Specialist

Key duties involve sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, waxing, and polishing floors using appropriate cleaning equipment. Additional tasks include dusting and polishing furniture, emptying waste receptacles, and maintaining the cleanliness of metal fixtures.

The position also requires washing accessible walls, windows, and blinds, as well as delivering clean linens to specified locations.

Restroom maintenance is crucial, including cleaning, disinfecting, and deodorizing lavatories, urinals, and toilet bowls. Mirrors, sinks, and drinking fountains must also be kept clean. Regular dusting of ledges and woodwork is expected, along with the replacement of deodorizers, toilet paper, hand towels, and soap.

Employees are responsible for reporting any maintenance issues such as broken windows, leaks, or clogged drains to their supervisor. Keeping an inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment is essential, and staff must communicate when additional materials are required or when equipment needs repair.


Qualifications:
This position is open to all applicants. Candidates will be evaluated based on their qualifications and experience.

Experience can include both paid and volunteer work, and applicants should clearly outline their relevant experience in their resumes. While no prior experience or training is necessary, candidates must be able to follow simple instructions and operate lightweight cleaning tools.

Physical stamina is required, as the role involves standing, bending, and reaching for extended periods. Education may substitute for experience in some federal positions, but this role does not allow for such substitution.
