Position Overview

The Physical Therapist is tasked with assessing, developing treatment strategies, and providing care to patients referred to the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Exhibit expertise in assessment and therapeutic techniques tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and billing practices for Physical Therapy services.
  • Support the training of new personnel and interns.
  • Engage in educational activities for Physical Therapy and Physical Therapist Assistant students.
  • Contribute to the recruitment and retention of skilled professionals.
  • Innovate and execute new operational processes.
  • Guide and mentor clinical staff members.
  • Maintain competency across all designated areas within the department.
Qualifications
  • Doctorate degree from a recognized physical therapy program.
  • A minimum of three years of clinical practice experience.
Licensure and Certification Requirements
  • Possession of or eligibility for a Texas State physical therapy license is mandatory.
Essential Skills
  • Implement Physical Therapy principles in accordance with the Texas State Practice Act and the APTA Code of Ethics.
  • Execute technical procedures while instilling confidence in both patients and colleagues.
Collaboration and Communication

Frequent collaboration with physicians, nursing staff, patients, and other healthcare professionals is essential.

Ability to adapt schedules and assist colleagues in the event of conflicts or cancellations is necessary.

Physical Requirements

This role necessitates walking, standing, and lifting weights exceeding 50 pounds, along with clear verbal communication.

Visual and auditory acuity is required.

Work Environment

Primarily indoor settings with fluctuating temperatures.

Potential exposure to infectious diseases and chemical substances.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position does not include direct supervisory responsibilities.
