Job Title: Domestic Violence Intervention Case Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Domestic Violence Intervention Case Manager to join our team at Bexar County, TX. As a key member of our Preventive Health and Environmental Services department, you will provide critical support to victims of family violence and domestic violence, helping them navigate the complexities of crisis intervention and case management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments of client needs, providing crisis intervention, safety planning, and case management services
  • Develop and implement individualized service plans, ensuring clients receive the necessary support and resources
  • Collaborate with local social service agencies, organizations, and vendors to provide comprehensive services and information to clients
  • Provide advocacy on behalf of clients, navigating the criminal justice system and connecting them with relevant resources
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation, ensuring compliance with departmental and regulatory requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, Criminal Justice, or Criminology, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Three years of experience in social services-related work, with a focus on domestic violence and crisis intervention
  • Ability to secure and maintain a favorable background investigation and CJIS eligibility
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations
  • Proficiency in computer software, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with victims of violence and in on-call settings
  • Fluency in Spanish
  • Knowledge of community service programs and case management techniques

Work Environment:

This role requires the ability to work in an office environment, with occasional field visits and mobile work throughout the county. The successful candidate will be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods and communicate effectively with others.
