About the Role:
The Office of Development and Alumni Engagement at The College of New Jersey is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Annual Giving Officer to join our team. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of prospective donors at annual giving levels, executing the engagement and cultivation of individuals in your assigned prospect pool, and preparing well-written call reports.
Main Responsibilities:
- Manage a donor/prospect portfolio: You will be responsible for cultivating an assigned portfolio of approximately 150 annual giving prospects with the ability to move to major gift donors.
- Qualify and cultivate prospective donors: You will make personal visits and other contacts to qualify and cultivate prospective donors.
- Implement prospect strategies: You will work with the Director of Strategy and Campaign Initiatives to implement prospect strategies for engaging and cultivating prospects in the life of the College.
- Build relationships with donors: You will build relationships with donors and coordinate engagement activities with the Director.
- Document all activity: You will document all activity in the institutional advancement database (Raisers Edge – NXT).
- Assist in overall strategy: You will assist the Director of Development in the overall strategy for building a culture of philanthropy at the college, developing and recommending goals, policies, and procedures that comply with the overall goals of the college and the Division of College Advancement.
- Attend college-sponsored events: You will attend college-sponsored events as appropriate.
Required Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited college or university: You must have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum of three years in development: You must have a minimum of three years of experience in development.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience using the Raiser's Edge database: You must have experience using the Raiser's Edge database or similar CRM systems.
- Experience working in an annual giving program: You must have experience working in an annual giving program within higher education.
- Strong organizational and communication skills: You must have strong organizational and communication skills and a clear, concise writing style.
