Position Overview

We are an expanding Wellness Center looking to enrich our services with a vibrant Yoga program tailored for our community. The ideal candidate will be adaptable to the evolving needs of our practice and will have the freedom to design and personalize their classes as they see fit.

The Yoga Facilitator will operate as an independent contractor, receiving compensation based on the number of classes taught. As we initiate our marketing efforts for this new service, we anticipate classes to commence shortly. If you are a friendly, engaging, and dynamic instructor who thrives in a supportive atmosphere and is passionate about leading classes that are uplifting, invigorating, and enjoyable, we encourage you to consider this opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Arrive at the studio 15-20 minutes prior to class to prepare the environment (rearranging equipment to ensure ample mat space, setting up props, music, lighting, etc.)
  • Craft a class experience that reflects your unique style and expertise
  • Deliver exceptional class instruction
  • Engage with participants after class
  • Maintain cleanliness of the studio space following each session, returning equipment to its original position
  • Foster a sense of community and connection among participants


Qualifications:

  • Valid Yoga Certification
  • Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience preferred (yoga or group fitness)
  • Current CPR Certification
  • Able to consistently teach 2-4 classes per week in the evenings, with potential for weekend classes based on demand
  • Outgoing demeanor with a strong commitment to providing outstanding client service
  • Ability to conduct a safe, enjoyable, and innovative class while genuinely caring about the success of all participants, regardless of their experience level

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be physically capable of moving freely throughout the classroom to demonstrate postures and transitions, monitor participants' movements, and provide hands-on adjustments as needed and requested
  • Ability to demonstrate exercises relevant to the class style, as frequently required
  • Physically able to lift and carry light equipment (1-10 lbs.)
  • Capable of adjusting and operating equipment
  • Strong verbal communication skills (proficient in English)

**Compensation is set at $60 per class, which includes arriving at the studio at least 15 minutes before class, conducting a 1-hour session, and staying an additional 15 minutes post-class to connect with participants and tidy the practice area.

**Initially, the goal is to schedule 2-3 classes per week with 4-6 participants per class. As the practice expands and the number of classes and participants increases, the per-class compensation will be adjusted accordingly to reflect the growth and success of the practice.
