Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist PRN to join our team at HCA Florida Lake Monroe Hospital. As a vital part of our patient care team, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform and document patient assessment, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
  • Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy.
  • Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
  • Assist with placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
  • Monitor patient for therapeutic response and notify provider and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response.
  • Assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients and respond to emergent patient situations.
Requirements
  • State Registered Respiratory Therapist
  • Certification through the NBRC (National Board for Respiratory Care)
  • Completion of a two-year AMA-approved respiratory care program (Associates Degree or equivalent)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support, or ACLS Instructor must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support, or PALS Instructor must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
  • Neonate Resuscitation must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
