As a valued member of the Rutland Regional Medical Center team, the Emergency Room Technician plays a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support in our fast-paced emergency department. Under the direction of clinical staff, this role assists with patient mobility, data and specimen collection, and performs both clinical and clerical duties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with patient care and mobility, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for patients and families.
  • Collect and manage data and specimens, maintaining accurate records and reports.
  • Manage supplies and equipment, ensuring efficient and effective use of resources.
  • Perform clinical and clerical duties, including data entry and communication with healthcare teams.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or Equivalent required.
  • Previous hospital or nursing home LNA or EMS experience preferred.
  • Current Vermont State License as LNA or EMT required.
  • BLS Certification through American Heart Association required.
  • Completion of endorsed patient/visitor de-escalation and restraint program certification required within 3 months of hire.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Ability to report patient care observations, deviations from patient's plan of care, and other pertinent information.
  • Ability to move or lift patients and equipment.
  • Demonstrated moderate knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills to include Microsoft Office suite of programs.
  • Ability to utilize multiple internal and external communication modalities.
