Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled HVAC Mechanic to join our team at Chenega Corporation. As an HVAC Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing repair and maintenance on a variety of equipment, systems, and structures, including lab equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform various maintenance services under the direction of the Foreman.
  • Operate, maintain, and repair one or more systems that provide an establishment with services such as heat, air-conditioning, refrigeration, steam, or high-temperature water or electricity.
  • Observe and interpret readings on gauges, meters, and charts, adjusting controls to ensure safe and efficient operation of the system and to meet demands for the service provided.
  • Diagnose and repair various mechanical and plumbing equipment.
  • Perform repairs to plumbing systems.
  • Repair and maintain pumps, air compressors, and miscellaneous mechanical items.
  • Repair lab and lab support equipment.
Requirements
  • High school diploma.
  • New Jersey Low-Pressure Boiler License.
  • HVAC CFC Certification.
  • Completion of a four-year U.S. Department of Labor-approved apprenticeship in HVACR or a Bachelor's degree in HVACR from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum three years of mechanical and electrical maintenance helper experience within the past three years.
Physical Demands

The employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee may use repeated motions that include the arms, wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The employee is occasionally required to walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
