Job SummaryAs a Cannon Crewmember in the Army National Guard, you will play a critical role in ensuring the U.S. maintains its battlefield superiority. You will be responsible for delivering decisive blows to the enemy using howitzers and learning how to use high-tech cannon artillery weapons systems, as well as artillery tactics and strategy.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct wire and radio communications to coordinate with other units
- Identify target locations and set up artillery systems for firing
- Operate heavy and light wheeled trucks and tracked vehicles to transport and manage artillery ammunition
- Maintain operational readiness of vehicles and equipment, ensuring they are in top working condition
- Participate in reconnaissance operations to gather intelligence on enemy positions
- Must be physically and mentally fit to perform under pressure
- Ability to make quick decisions and work effectively as a team member
- Must meet citizenship requirements and pass a physical exam
