ROLE AND MISSION:
The Social Services Assistant / Designee plays a crucial role in coordinating and executing services aimed at enhancing the social and emotional well-being of each resident. This position ensures that care standards are upheld and that residents receive the highest quality of care consistently. As a collaborative team member, the individual will work closely with the Social Services Director and other staff to achieve these goals while managing available resources effectively.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Foster and maintain positive relationships with fellow caregivers to encourage their involvement in programs and services that support residents' psychosocial health.
- Document and communicate any grievances or complaints to the Director of Social Services promptly.
- Act as an advocate for residents, ensuring their needs are met, including maintaining appropriate personal appearance and hygiene.
- Provide valuable insights to the Director of Social Services to address resident concerns and enhance their care.
- Work to improve service quality and expand the range of activities and choices available to residents.
- Collaborate with the activities department to engage family members and guests in resident activities whenever feasible.
- Uphold the confidentiality of all resident and family information at all times.
- Carry out general social services tasks as required.
- Participate in training sessions, educational classes, and orientation programs to continuously improve care quality.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
- Adhere to established policies and procedures, quality improvement programs, and safety standards.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Prior experience in social services within a long-term care setting is preferred.
