Job Summary

Goodwill Industries of Arkansas is seeking a highly skilled Reentry Specialist to join our team. As a Reentry Specialist, you will play a critical role in assisting individuals with criminal backgrounds to become self-sufficient by providing leading-edge services that create solutions and change lives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work as part of an interdisciplinary team to ensure that necessary services and support are provided to assist persons served in identifying and making choices about their social, vocational, and life skills goals to support successful community reintegration.
  • Develop knowledge of and relationships with community service providers, including collaborating agencies, probation, parole, court support services, Department of Human Services, Child Support Enforcement, substance abuse, mental health agencies, housing providers/landlords, legal aid, and area schools.
  • Design and facilitate educational and training programs to include pre and post-release services, such as life skills training, financial management, eligibility for local, state, and federal assistance, socialization, parenting skills, career development, occupational skill training, and personal safety.
  • Facilitate the intake process for new referrals, complete needs assessments and interest inventories to establish a basis for the Individual Service Plan, and develop a plan to assist each participant start a path to self-sufficiency.
  • Provide information and referral for services that are not provided by the agency, maintain professional and ethical boundaries with consumers and community stakeholders, and provide crisis intervention and assist in the development of responsible behaviors to ensure successful reintegration into the community.
  • Facilitate discharge planning and follow-up in transfers to other agencies and community programs, including tracking placement and retention, and adhere to client privacy rights and HIPAA requirements.
Requirements
  • Broad knowledge of fields such as accounting, marketing, business administration, finance, etc.
  • Equivalent to a four-year college degree, plus 3 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid Driver's License, MVR, and cleared background.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3+ years experience in public service or social services.
  • Ability to access department of corrections facilities throughout the designated region as required.
  • Ability to travel throughout the designated region as required.
