Pharmacist Job Summary

The Pharmacist is a key member of the healthcare team at PIH Health, responsible for ensuring the safe and effective use of medications in our facility. This role requires a strong commitment to regulatory compliance, effective communication, and collaboration with medical staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review patient medication history for allergies and drug interactions, ensuring accurate and timely dispensing and distribution of pharmaceuticals.
  • Monitor drug therapy as ordered by medical staff, suggesting alternate therapy when appropriate.
  • Provide patients with information on medication use, including dosage, administration schedules, and potential side effects.
  • Manage pharmacy technicians effectively, ensuring seamless operations.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited college of pharmacy.
  • 1-3 years of experience as a pharmacist, preferably in a hospital setting.
  • Current Arizona State Board of Pharmacy Pharmacist license in good standing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, covering afternoons/evenings Monday-Friday, with occasional Saturdays.
  • Proficiency in Cerner and Pyxis systems.
