About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Plumber Foreman to join our team at the State of Indiana. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for directing and performing the installation, repair, and preventative maintenance of various plumbing systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct a crew of skilled or unskilled employees and/or provide oversight to contractors in the completion of projects for the Joint Forces Headquarters of the Indiana National Guard in Indianapolis.
  • Supervise a crew of skilled workers who may be state employees or traditional guardsmen in following general instructions and standard practices of the trade.
  • Inspect grounds, buildings, and equipment to ensure proper plumbing operations.
  • Check all requisitioned equipment to ensure quantity, quality, and specifications.
  • Supervise and participates in installation, maintenance, and repair of water, steam, and sewage systems.
  • Ensure that all safety standards and precautions are followed by all subordinate workers.
  • Ensure that all plumbing systems meet regulatory laws.
Requirements
  • Thorough knowledge of practices, methods, and standards of installation and maintenance of plumbing systems.
  • Thorough knowledge in the use of pipe cutters, threaders, reamers, caulking tools, pipe wrenches, and plumbing tools.
  • Thorough knowledge of the occupational hazards, safety precautions, and sanitary regulations of the trade.
  • Ability to lay out, assign, schedule, and supervise the work of skilled plumbers.
  • Be willing to travel with reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to perform all duties of a skilled plumber.
