About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bar Supervisor to join our team at the UPBAR at the Element by Westin Forest Park. As a Bar Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading by example, maintaining a high level of service standards, and ensuring the smooth operation of the bar.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead by example and maintain a high level of service standards
  • Recruit, interview, and retain bartenders
  • Implement company learning/training programs
  • Monitor daily use of Service Standards and F&B Recipes
  • Train and retrain bar servers, barbacks, and kitchen attendants
  • Log and maintain waste/spill log, food waste, and breakage log
  • Conduct daily opening and closing checklists
  • Coach bar servers on maintaining service standards and menu knowledge
  • Coach kitchen attendants on maintaining quality of food
  • Perform kitchen audits and weekly food inventory
  • Ensure Kitchen Prep Procedures are being followed and assist in establishing par levels
  • Follow up on proper maintenance of all equipment
  • Maintain fresh ingredients in the kitchen
  • Participate in a team environment that promotes sales and service success
  • Commit to maintaining the culture through the evolution of the business
  • Attend all restaurant-related meetings and training sessions
  • Declare all tips as required by law and ensure all bartenders adhere to tip policy
  • Receive and implement feedback and coaching
  • Possess complete knowledge of all food and beverage menus
  • Maintain spreadsheet recipes for all prepared drinks and cocktails
  • Possess competent knowledge of food, beer, wine, and spirits
  • Possess complete knowledge and application of all Hospitality Standards
  • Balance service between bar top Guests and the service well
  • Practice and coach proper cash handling and operation of the point-of-sale system
  • Practice and coach the continuous updating of guest tabs
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe environment for all team members and Guests
  • Maintain proper stock levels of perishables and spirits according to projected business
  • Implement the Seasonal Food and Cocktail Program timely and properly
  • Participate in the creation of Fresh Cocktails and Food items
  • Participate in ordering and setting Par levels
  • Meet with vendors
  • Participate in employee scheduling
  • Store all product and keep organized liquor/beer and wine rooms clean and organized
  • Follow up with Daily, Weekly and Monthly Cleaning checklists
  • Verify proper government-issued identification of Guests when alcohol is ordered as required by state and federal law
  • Adhere to Company and hotel policies and procedures
  • Perform all other duties as asked or required by property managers and/or corporate managers
  • Send reports to corporate as requested
