Transportation Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Specialist to transport students to and from school and on assigned trips safely and efficiently. As a key member of our team, you will ensure compliance with laws and safety regulations while maintaining high ethical standards.

About the Role:
This is a critical position that requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for transporting students safely and efficiently, complying with all state and local laws related to bus transportation, observing all safety regulations for school buses, and maintaining discipline of students. Additionally, you will follow procedures for loading and unloading students, operate the bus in a safe manner at all times, model and maintain high ethical standards, keep supervisors informed of potential problems, respond to inquiries and concerns in a timely manner, prepare required reports, and maintain records.

Key Responsibilities:
• Transport students to and from school and on assigned trips safely and efficiently.
• Comply with all state and local laws related to bus transportation.
• Observe all safety regulations for school buses.
• Maintain discipline of students and report discipline problems.
• Follow procedures for loading and unloading students.
• Operate bus in a safe manner at all times.
• Model and maintain high ethical standards.
• Keep supervisor informed of potential problems.
• Respond to inquiries and concerns in a timely manner.
• Prepare required reports and maintain records.

Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. They must also possess a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) and have experience working with children. In addition, they should be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
