Job Title: Engineer IV - Tunnels

Mott MacDonald is seeking a highly skilled Engineer IV - Tunnels to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for undertaking a variety of projects, including tunnels, micro tunnels, and other trenchless methods.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform geotechnical evaluations of subsurface conditions, including soil, rock, and mixed face conditions.
  • Produce design solutions, reports, specifications, and drawings for a range of projects from new construction to modifications and rehabilitation of existing underground facilities.
  • Assess subsurface conditions and develop design criteria.
  • Review shop drawings for projects and develop engineering concepts.
  • Write reports for submission to clients and assist with preparation of proposals.
  • Liaise with clients, attending progress meetings and producing reports on progress.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a directly related field.
  • Three years of experience as an Engineer or other occupation/position/job title involving experience in tunneling or underground structure engineering.
  • Experience may be gained concurrently and must include three years in each of the following:
    • Structural inspection of tunnels.
    • Structural analysis and design of tunnels or other underground structures using STAAD, SAP 2000, Plaxis 2D, Plaxis 3D, or similar structural analysis software.
    • Development of design contract documents of tunnels or other underground structure projects including design drawings.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) License.
