Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Interventional Technologist to join our team at University Hospital. As an Interventional Technologist, you will play a critical role in assisting physicians during interventional radiology procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist physicians during interventional radiology procedures, ensuring accurate and safe execution of procedures.
  • Prepare and maintain exam trays, equipment, and supplies according to sterile technique and departmental protocols.
  • Operate and maintain digital imaging equipment, generators, and power injectors, ensuring optimal image quality and patient safety.
  • Evaluate images for technical accuracy and diagnostic quality, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Ensure radiation safety practices are followed during radiographic examinations, including the use of lead shields, collimation, and pregnancy status verification.
  • Participate in departmental staff meetings and in-services, staying up-to-date on the latest procedures and technologies.
  • Assist in training new personnel and maintaining proficiency in hospital and radiology equipment and information systems.
  • Promote a collaborative practice atmosphere with other healthcare team members.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an approved program in Radiologic Technology.
  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • KY Radiation Operator's certification.
  • BLS certification.
  • IR Registry certification within 2 years of employment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2 years of recent experience as a general radiographer.
